What happens to a lease bike at the end of its contract? At Joule, that’s not where the story ends. Quite the opposite. Thanks to our partnership with E-bis, many of these bikes get a second life.

E-bis specializes in remarketing ex-lease bikes. Bikes that are not purchased by the first user are collected and thoroughly inspected. Only bikes that meet strict quality criteria are eligible for a second lease. This includes less than 10,000 kilometers on the odometer, at least 80% battery capacity, and a good overall condition.
Each bike then undergoes a technical inspection and full refurbishment in E-bis’ workshop. Components are replaced where needed, ensuring the bike is ready for use again. After that, it can be leased again, often for a new period of 36 months.
For the end user, this comes with immediate benefits. The entry price is lower, making high-quality bikes, such as speed pedelecs, more accessible within budget. At the same time, the environmental impact is significantly reduced by extending the lifespan of existing bikes and limiting the need for new production.
This is also a strong solution for companies. Refurbished leasing allows employers to offer bikes in a cost-efficient way, without compromising on quality or service. Maintenance remains included, providing additional peace of mind.
The collaboration between Joule and E-bis creates a truly circular model. Bikes don’t leave the system, they stay in use as long as possible. Or as one customer put it: it’s not just a budget-friendly choice, it’s simply a smart one.
