At Joule, everything revolves around energy. ⚡ Our name refers to the unit of energy — and that’s exactly what we put into making commuting smarter, healthier, and more sustainable every single day. Since 2017, we’ve been helping employers, the self-employed, and employees move forward with tailor-made bike leasing.

Today, more than 5,000 riders are on the road with us, spread across 300+ customers — from small businesses to major names like Telenet, Krëfel, and GO! Scholengroep.

Our story

The idea for Joule was born during a mountain bike trip in Italy. Laurens Verbeke, Jordy De Loose, and Nicolas Coudeville didn’t go for traditional bikes, but for e-bikes. That ride made it crystal clear: an e-bike is not only fun, but also a smart and practical way of moving around.

With that insight, they launched Joule: a bike leasing partner that goes beyond leasing alone. Today, we distribute bikes, provide maintenance, and activate bike plans — always with one goal in mind: to improve commuting.

Your bike, your rules.

With Joule, you choose how it works: delivery and maintenance at home with Joule Mobile, or at your local bike dealer with Joule Local. Start with one bike or an entire fleet, and pick your own term — 12, 24, 36, or 48 months. We also offer refurbished bikes and social leasing, making bike leasing truly accessible for everyone.
