Staff can trade their year-end bonus for a flex budget through a simple declaration form.
The first rollout kicked off in December 2024 with online webinars about bike leasing and how to sign up. More webinars and bike test events are planned for spring and fall 2025, in collaboration with schools.
In 2024, staff only had one month to sign up for 2025 leasing. For 2026, they’ll have the entire year to get everything sorted.

The first bikes were picked up on Saturday, March 1, 2025 – just in time for spring break and a sunny week! That day alone, 106 bikes rolled out. Go, Go!

Why GO! chose bike leasing
A recent legal change made it possible for education staff to use their year-end bonus for bike leasing. GO! jumped at the chance to get more people biking to work. Since the leasing is only available through this bonus swap, clear communication and guidance were key – and that’s where Joule really stepped up.

There were tons of questions about the paperwork and flex budget, but Joule tackled them head-on, providing proactive support every step of the way.
The plan: info sessions, webinars & test rides
The first activation happened in December 2024 with webinars explaining how bike leasing works and how to fill out the declaration form to trade the year-end bonus. In 2025, there’ll be more webinars and test events so everyone can make an informed choice.

As of today, 1270 forms are in, 740 bikes have been ordered, and 651 have already been delivered. The e-bike reigns supreme, with speed pedelecs coming in hot as a close second. Most orders came through Joule Local, with Gazelle leading the pack.
From car commuter to daily bike rider: teacher Sarah’s story
Sarah works at a special education school and made a conscious decision to lease a bike:
“My old bike was ready for retirement, and when I heard about the lease option, I looked into it. The perks were clear – you get a brand-new bike without a big upfront cost, especially when you use the year-end bonus as payment.”
